Varn Curtis - Bongs, Blunts and Bitches (EP Review)

Varn Curtis has been a staple of Voiceless Music since our inception almost a decade ago, and since then he's stayed involved in the ever changing music business as much as we have and we can't be more proud. So as 2021 comes in the picture, so does the East Coast MC who now looks to put this year on his back with his new EP, Bongs, Blunts and Bitches.

For the Groundwork general this album had a central focus: the girls and the ganja. That range from the Cali vibe Varn delivers with "PreRoll" to the almost Afroman-like aura he ends the project with "Light Another Blunt".

But the lead single, "So High" featuring A.W.O.L. was the right choice to push this EP. Styles P comparisons aside, Curtis delivers us a laid back, fun but simplistic track that can only serve better if (and when) we get a accompanying visual.

All in all, even with "So High" in several radio rotations, the Queens-bred MC has started 2021 on the right foot. Let's see if he can be as potent as some White Widow going into the second quarter.
