A Minute With Mainstream: Social Progression

Smile on my face, are you happy for me?

If you look at the way the world currently, we live in much uncertainty. Everything is subjective, from the way we carry ourselves to the way we spend money. I mean have you seen the price of eggs?! It’s ludicrous.

But the one thing that has always stayed uncertain is social media. Yes, the multi faceted tool used by many for the sake of social status, “likes” and comments, and the trivial follow count. Uncertainty runs rampant on social media… We are subjected to repetitive violence, over stated Men v. Women topics, unexplainable phenomenon's in the sky… oh yes and the plethora of ass. Lots and lots of ass.

She may be onto something...

Navigating the innerwebs has been dumbed down to nothing but Mortal Kombat blood codes: swipe left, swipe right, up, down, and some constant screen pressing. However the main key is engagement. The more you socialize, the more your “popularity” and attention arises. Crazy how this novel concept is even exaggerated. The tendency here is people don’t use DMs for new connections and friendships, it’s about looking to escalate simple conversations into scamming tactics, nosy Niggas, and “can I illustrate something for you today? I got it for the low. Peep my page”.

This guy gets it.

How do we get back to a simplistic world? One that gives us the chance to tell one another how we feel with our being subjected to “weak men with feelings” or “bitches don’t know how to act”? We’re humans. And somehow social media has taken the Human effect away. It’s got us m addicted to A.I.’s and unconventional clout that doesn’t even turn to currency rather than having the necessary dialogue to grow as people.

Elsa told us to let it go, be she is not our savior...

Then again, maybe it’s too late for some of us. Maybe it’s too late to realign with a world that is so progressive that even “first base” now has a cost. Remember when we treasured nudes? Ah I digress. They say we all have to move forward right? That we have to grow? Cool. Can we just be smart about it? THINK BEFORE WE ACT. We only get one of these “life” things…

Unless we’re all clones…
